Abstract


The stream-wise fluidelastic instability of tube arrays has recently been in the limelight due to the practical problem of an event in a steam generator in 2012. By recent studies, it has been revealed that the stream-wise fluidelastic instability of tube arrays is easily susceptable in rotated triangular arrays, and the number of adjacent flexible cylinders plays an important role. This paper introduces the experimental results on the case where the rotated triangular arrays are supposed on the inclined flow, which is usually anticipated in the U-bend region of practical steam generators.
